What is CrossFit?

CrossFit is a core strength and conditioning program employing highly intense functional fitness. It is not a specialized fitness plan. CrossFit is designed to be general, broad, and inclusive in its fitness goals and implements universal scalability making it the ideal application for any dedicated individual regardless of their experience.

Who can do CrossFit?

Everyone! CrossFit is designed for universal scalability, meaning all routines are scalable to any degree of fitness level an img_0344individual may be at. CrossFit is the primary strength and conditioning program for hundreds of elite professionals (such as police academies, military special operations units, and professional athletes), as well as the key conditioning program used by housewives, businessmen, grandparents and a wide variety of individuals ranging in fitness level and ability.

What does a typical workout look like at RedPoint and how long should I plan to be in the gym?

Each of our W.O.D.s (Workout of the Day) typically follow this format:

  • Warm-up

- Specifically created to prepare your body for the workout. Warm-ups differ each day depending on the W.O.D.

  • The W.O.D.

- A typical W.O.D. averages 20 minutes long. Each workout varies on a daily basis. You can find out what the W.O.D. is that day on our website under CrossFit or by going to www.crossfit.com. We do not always follow what is on the CrossFit website. Our trainers will occasionally choose a different W.O.D. or create their own. We are also always open on Rest Days and our trainers will create the W.O.D.

  • Check Out

- This is meant to properly cool your body down from the workout.

Plan to spend about one hour at the gym.

I am new to CrossFit. Is there an introductory class?

Yes! We have created On-Ramp, specifically designed to help new CrossFitters learn the fundamental skill sets in CrossFit. You can learn more about On-Ramp here

What should I wear?

Be sure to wear workout clothes that are comfortable and allow you to have full range of motion.

I have an old injury or condition that occasionally hinders my performance. Will this be an issue?

Our instructors can work with almost any injury or limitation, but you must inform your instructor with any concerns so that it may be properly addressed. It is very important that your instructor is aware of any such conditions as to avoid further injuries or problems.

How does your gym differ from any other fitness gym?img_02991

RedPoint provides an environment that cultivates a strong, positive community, motivation, and accountability. Our gym is not your typical fitness gym. You will not find weight machines, treadmills, mirrors or TV’s. What you will find is a community that fosters individual growth, support and a drive for forging elite health and fitness.

Our CrossFit facility is equip with all the necessary tools for functional fitness: pull-up bars, dumbells, Olympic weights, rowing machines, among many others. Come check us out to see what RedPoint has to offer, your first CrossFit class is free!
